About This Campaign
The state of Nebraska, with its unicameral legislature, has a long history of serving as a check against corporate power—a long history serving as the democratic conscience of the nation. Did you know that Nebraska was the first state to allow tenant farmers to vote in school board elections? Or that we were the first state to demand that all schools provide free textbooks for every student? Our ancestors took democracy very seriously, and they were willing to fight for it.
On a per capita basis, it’s likely that our grandparents and great-grandparents created more cooperatives than any other state in the union. They stood up to corporate excess. It’s time for Nebraskans to stand up again. It’s time to end the long, slow, painful process of rural community decline. Please join me. Let’s live our legacy.
I am offering third district voters something they haven't had in decades, someone who will go to Washington to promote the vitality and well-being of all rural Nebraska communities, and protect the beauty and productivity of the Nebraska countryside from those who would destroy it in the interest of corporate profit.
